Over 17 million years ago, one of the largest lava flows ever to appear on the Earth's surface engulfed a 53,000 square mile region of Central Washington State. Over the following 12 to 15 million years lava continued to pour out, one flow covering the next, accumulating to over a mile thick. In some cases the lava cooled very slowly, allowing crystallization and the formation of Basalt columns.
Basalt can be used interchangeably in almost every application where granite or other dimensional stone is found. The inner black material is mainly used for paving and tile applications. Whole columns can be used to create water features, placement stones or other custom applications.
We consider ourselves on the forefront of the Basalt industry and willl continue to be innovators in this growing market.
